BREAKING NEWS:

CORPS LIFTS TABLE ROCK LAKE SHORELINE MORATORIUM

The Army Corps of Engineers, Table Rock Project Office will accept applications for new shoreline use permits or modifications to existing permits beginning at 8 a.m. June 12.

All permit requests will be processed under the current shoreline management plan in the order received.  The speed at which requests can be processed will depend upon the volume received and the availability of personnel. Shoreline activity requests are accepted from 8 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. weekdays by the duty ranger at the Table Rock Lake Project Office.

The Corps suspended shoreline activity requests Feb. 1, 2015 to establish a baseline of the lake while revising its 21-year-old shoreline management plan.  The draft shoreline management plan will be released June 30 and comments from the public will be accepted on it as well as Table Rock’s Master Plan through Aug. 31.

Comments can be mailed to: Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, ATTN: Programs and Project Management Division, P.O. Box 867, Little Rock, Ark., 72203. Comments may also be faxed to 501-324-5605 or emailed to [email protected].

A series of public workshops will be held in late July or early August to allow the public to comment on the draft revised Table Rock Shoreline Management Plan.  The workshops will also allow project personnel to gather information from local residents and park visitors. The locations, dates and times of these workshops will be announced in the near future. Anyone with any interest in the future management of Table Rock Lake is encouraged to attend.

The Corps’ shoreline management plans are used to determine the use of the shoreline to ensure the general publics’ recreational enjoyment and fish and wildlife benefits on public lands and water, both now and for generations to come.
